PHILLIP OXLEY

Phil's favorite cameras through the years are his first amateur camera, the Nikon 7000, his present daily shooter, the Fujifilm x100V, and of course, the one he carries all the time, the iPhone 14 ProMax. "All of these cameras help me get the image I want, but at the end of the day, the camera does not matter."

About Phillip Oxley

Phillip Oxley attributes his interest in photography to his father: "Growing up, my dad always had a camera and a home darkroom so, as a boy, I learned to develop film and print pictures."

As a young adult working in the family printing business, one of his jobs was running the process camera. "It was a huge thing, maybe 12-feet long, but it took pictures."

He enjoys photography and shoots photos regularly. Phillip sees photography as a multi-faceted medium. "First and foremost, the camera is a recording device, but it is much more than that. It allows the photographer to show what he sees, but also what he imagines."

Phillip and his wife of 53 years make their home in St. Joseph, Mo. Nothing slows him down; Phil enjoys traveling and golfing when not at home.

As Brenda (his wife) would say "Hey, stop and buy a copy of his book, would ya?"
